They tried to cut us down, but we will not be molded.
They tried to burn us, but they didn't know that fire catalyzes growth.
Fire destroyed every living thing. They left us in ashes, there we grew so tall that we surpass the canopy and created our own life.
Our raza, resilient to the burn of this society. Our strength. Our survival. Our future.
To me, these giant sequoias are metaphorically representative of Latinx culture's resistance to being degraded. This internship
