Yosemite National Park (DHA)

Aquatic Biological Science Intern  -  El Portal, CA

The intern will be immersed in a variety of projects aimed at conserving amphibians and reptiles of the Sierra Nevada. They will survey for threatened and endangered species, learn cutting-edge scientific techniques, and learn aquatic habitat restoration techniques . The work will include the eradication of non-native species (including trout species and non-native bullfrogs). Interns will have to work nights as well as weekends.

Interns will work in remote wilderness locations in the high country of Yosemite National Park in groups of two to four people with one intern and at least one NPS employee mentor. They will reside in backcountry campsites, often off trail, for up to 8 days per work tour (generally 8 days on and 6 days off rotating).
