Suhey Ortega

Class of 2017

Suhey Ortega is a first generation Mexican American and college student at Arizona State University studying Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Sustainability and Transborder Chican@/Latin@ Studies. She is involved in many organizations such as the ASU Outdoors Club, Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Association, and her University’s Hispanic Heritage Month Committee. As a Student Conservation Association alumna, Suhey worked at Gateway National Recreation Area in New Jersey to interpret water safety programs for Spanish speaking visitors. She hopes to bridge the gap between underrepresented groups and is excited to work this summer with the Southeast Office to understand and implement Hispanic/Latinx based programs across national parks. Suhey enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and embracing hers and others culture!
