Roxana Saravia

Class of 2017, 2018

I am from New York and grew up on Long Island. I am an incoming Master’s student in Marine Conservation and Policy at Stony Brook University. I enjoy reading, hiking, and going to the beach.  This is my second season as an intern with the Latino Heritage Internship Program! I returned to Fire Island National Seashore (FIIS) for some more fun (and hard work) in the sun. The marina underwent a renovation last season to repair damage from Superstorm Sandy. During this summer, I learned more about the employees and volunteers from around the park and how they experience FIIS. We all had different roles and duties at the park, so we got to see a different perspective on how the park runs.
